Conos Mania, What a great concept! food in a cone…in our case, the cone is made of green fried plantains or seaweed. I´ve seen these concept in another country like U.S.A but have only tried it here. For me, it was a surprise the first time I tasted it because I underestimated it.

I think this is a full fulling, When I´m very hungry I can eat 3 and feel satisfied. The prices are customer friendly, around RD$150.00 per cone (US$3.00). So if you are in a hurry with a budget this is the place for you. The place itself is in the city center right next to Ave. Churchill and very comfortable. It´s got outdoor seating as well as indoor.I

This restaurant was awarded Best of DR 2013 ,which I think it deserves.  After visiting I realized I need to stop by more often to try all the cones in the menu!… up next you´ll understand why 🙂

This was the only one ordered that was wrapped in seaweed, just so you guys can have an idea on how it looks. I prefer wrapped in plantains just because the seaweed becomes a little chewy and elastic, but the flavor still rocks 🙂

The ¨caribeño¨has shrimp ceviche in passion fruit sauce, avocado, pico de gallo and sour cream. This was my least favorite just because the shrimp needed more seasoning, I was expecting it to stand out but it just said nothing. The second one, ¨Aspero¨ is amazing. It has Chicharron, sour cream and avocado. Its very simple but crunchy and full of flavor.

They also give you the liberty to select your wrapping, either fried green plantains or seaweed.

To finish off the right way I also had dessert. a Tres Leches, in a cone of course. the frosting was a little too sweet but played well when you ate it all together. It get two thumbs up from me.

Today the service was a little slow. The waitresses had very good intentions, but I think the problem was in the kitchen. Nevertheless I was very satisfied with dinner
