Market

20 Aug

Market is one of my favorite places to go in the city. The food is always good and the ambiance just makes you feel relaxed;  since you won´t feel like you should overdress just to grab a something to eat (Dominicans tend to dress fancy for a night out ). They have an outdoor terrace which is pretty nice, but I always sit inside so I can enjoy my dinner with the a/c.

The fact that It’s decorated with logs makes me feel like I’m in a modern, plain but elegant cabin . The fact that you can look into the kitchen when your meal is being cooked  is comforting to me, because everything looks clean and I don’t have to worry about finding little surprises on my plate.

love it 🙂

I was very pleased with how this meal turned out( like always) .started off with a  Beef Carpaccio, which was delicious. For all of you who are not sure on eating raw meat…trust me, give it a try, you WILL love it!!
As an entrée the Arugula and Prosciutto Pizza was big enough for one person and maybe 2 people (who don’t eat much will be enough), I had to share to be able to finish it. The dough was cooked properly, I like thinner crusts just because it’s crunchier but its thinner than the regular dough at Dominos or Pizza Hut.
There was a fair amount of cured ham and arugula as well.

Love the Wooden Board!

The Seared Tuna in Sesame Seeds was not my favorite, because it tasted a little too fishy for me (Yes! I know it’s tuna, but I don’t like when fish tastes how it smells), I feel it needed more seasoning. The portion was alright, but don’t expect to get full if you are very hungry.  The Cobb Salad was a great compliment for the tuna, even though not a fan of Cobb salad I have to admit it was good.

The service was ok, we ordered our food and got our food in time…but, I think our waiter was mute, I never heard a word out of his mouth.  He was kind enough to not disrupt our evening but a little conversation never hurt anyone..right??
The only thing I didn’t like was that the beer glass was wet and not chilled when brought to the table. I appreciate you taking the time t wash it for me, but at least dry it off please.
Still, Market is one of my favorites because the food is consistent in flavor and quality.
